Readers of this blog will have read that Tom Hesp Welsh & Ellie Goodband were promised to each other way back when they joined Bridlington Bay Archers. On June 15th they married in York, with a reception at the Pavilion Hotel. Here is the story in their own words...
"Tom and Ellie met back in February 2015. Tom had recently moved to Bridlington, Ellie's home town, and quickly became friends. Ellie was struck by how Tom could make her laugh without even trying, and Tom was amazed by Ellie's thoughtfulness to others. A few weeks later in one of our local pubs, Tom (after some Dutch courage) asked Ellie out on their first date. He offered to take her out for the best steak he could find... it was at this moment Ellie reminded him she was a vegetarian, Tom's quick response of 'well I'll have to eat it then' followed with uncontrollable laughter was the start of something wonderful.
They couldn’t keep away from each other in the following weeks and before they knew it, weeks turned into months, then months rolled into years. On the 18th August 2021 surrounded by family and friends, Tom got down on one knee… and Ellie said yes!"
