Archery has a long history in Bridlington and there are medieval archery butts (previously in the Priory monastery grounds), now found in the playing fields of East Riding College on St Mary's Walk. In fact the restaurant on the college campus is called 'Archers'.

Naturally we don't have a photograph of the monks with their bows but we do have a photograph from the collection of Bridlington local Derek Wilson, of ladies doing archery in the grounds of Sewerby Hall, thought to have been taken sometime in the early 1950's.

Sunday was a really windy afternoon! So much so that the club decided to forgo normal target practice at distance and use blank bosses instead. This being a good way to examine shooting form and strive to get tighter arrow grouping. We had bosses at 10m, 15m and 20m.
